Definition

As seen in Wikipedia:

A Luser Attitude Readjustment Tool (abbreviated LART) is something large, heavy and painful, used to respond appropriately to particularly annoying lusers. A LART can by definition be anything from a pat on the back, to a small tactical nuclear attack, depending on how much adjustment the attitude needs. Names for specific types of LARTs include cluebat, clue stick, Clueisville Slugger, clue-by-four and Board of Education.

Who uses LARTs, and when?

Typical LARTs carried by Kidsnet support people include manageably-small planks of lumber, short legnths of pipe or heavy dowel, and other such items. Lab 23 is known for keeping spent clamshell iBook batteries on hand for use as LARTs. Other more famous LARTs have included baseball bats (one of which was very realistic-looking, but made of foam) and remnants of antenna equipment.

In general, Kidsnet support people do not actually use their LARTs - the mere presence of a support person wielding a LART is usually enough to get the luser in question to correct their behavior. In extreme cases, however, LARTs may be used to "calm down" lusers who are getting out of hand.

The use of a LART is entirely at the discretion of the support person carrying it. As such, they alone are responsible for the damage they may cause when attempting to LART problematic lusers.
