KRAP:Audio Archive
From Kidsnet Support Wiki
This article is an index of downloadable audio clips recorded from, and related to, KRAP.

Overview
KRAP records its programming as it is being broadcast, and often digitizes and archives segements that are of interest. In addition, almost all of the jingles, music, and other audio used on KRAP are created, stored, and played back using standard digital file formats.
Because of this, we figured that it would be easy to make the most interesting "stuff" in our archive available on the Internet. So, here it is! Check often for updates, if you're into that sort of thing.
All the files this page links to are MP3s; you will need an appropriate player application to listen to them.
Longer recordings like airchecks and interviews are usually periscoped - that is, all but the first and last seconds of the songs are cut out to conserve time, bandwidth, and storage space. Other than that, these "periscoped" recordings are unedited and will sound just as they did when they were recorded from KRAP's live feed.
The List
Jingles
- mix-callletters.mp3 - A top-of-the-hour ID jingle, which combines our usual mashed-up call letter jingle with two bits from a studio session (wherein random kids talked about the station) and part of an odd voicemail we got. Runtime: 0:10. Created by Keith Thelen.
- mix-shorty.mp3 - This kid decided to be rather inappropraite during his session. So we cut up his recording, added movie and cartoon clips, and generally made fun of him. Surprisingly, he called and told us he liked it. Runtime: 0:10. Created by Keith Thelen.
- mix-listeners.mp3 - Our KBEK-esque listener response jingle, made up of various clips from the "random kids" session. Runtime: 0:15. Created by Keith Thelen.
- mix-notoacid.mp3 - A "conversation" among our listeners, made entirely in the cutting room. Picks on the same kid as in the call-letter jingle. Runtime: 0:15. Created by Keith Thelen.
- danielle-outtakes.mp3 - Danielle Lancrain's outtakes. After a fifteen minute session that yielded only garbage, we had no choice but to make this clip, which we run between songs occasionally. Runtime: 0:30. Created by Keith Thelen.

Notes on this aircheck: "The buzz in the background was not normally there. I suspect it came up because I was removing equipment in the studio while I was still on the air, and the volume on some channel got left on after the machine that fed into it was disconnected. Also, some of my voiceovers were extremely "hot" since I was working without the aid of a monitor and thus couldn't hear how loud I was." - KT
